The Curse

Lyrics:
A tear sprouted from each corner
The sun's rays reflecting in broken eyes?
Or were emotions stronger
than a beautiful morning and words of advice?

I'd love to blame the beams;
"The morning sun can be so tiresome."
I'd love to have an answer;
"Lies hurt more than being replaced."

It needs time.

Give me just that, to pick up speed and pace.
Give me just that, to give it all a place.
When it is all through and done; forgiven, not forgotten?
Give me just that, to let you do the math.
Give me just that, to create a new path.
When it is all through and done, will time have shattered memories?

Maybe it was their advice that necked me?
Maybe it was the way you treat your friends.
Maybe it's in the way you leave me be?
Maybe I grew tired of making amends.

Fear sprouted from each word.
This forgotten space in time, covered by night.
I feel like I am cursed.
Without a vision of the end in sight.

I'd love to blame the night;
"I just need a good night's rest."
I'd love to have a response:
"I have no clue who you are talking about."

I deserved better.
I deserve better.

Addendum:
"How have I been? Alive, barely kicking.
Lost in loss but still having hope, mostly unable to cope.
It's been a while since we talked, how have you been holding up?
I heard you are doing well, I heard the stories, I can tell.
You sure look fine, do you have some time?
Maybe is fine too. Hope to see you soon."

"How have I been? I'm doing fine again.
It was all a big misunderstanding.
It's been a while since we talked, how has she been holding up?
She knows I'm doing well, she heard the stories, she can tell.
I feel perfectly fine. Did she ask if I have some time?
I hope maybe is okay, it'll have to be some other day."

Emotions are a fickle thing, aren't they?
One moment all seems fine, the next you fall to your knees.
And I surely would've fallen; if I wasn't already down to begin with.

And such is the tragedy, isn't it?
Although it seems like a curse, everything we are feeling is common.
Silently shared among thousands on a daily basis.
